      is there a trick to disconnecting the throttle linkage?…i want to remove and check the carb

          There should be a small piece of stainless wire bent into an ‘S’ shape at the ends of the brass rod connecting the carb to the mag plate. A small pair of side cutters are your friend here to get it straightened out and removed.

            to re attach   you can use small SS wire  from the hobby store goodies  or   I have used small  fishing swivel snaps .. I just cut-off the  swivel part part and keep the “safety pin” portion of the swivel 🙂      you surely have a few spares  in the tackle box .
