I need two 3/8 x 27tpi. I see plenty of taps but no other fasteners much less a plug. Does anyone know of a source? This is for a 1935 Sportfour.

November 26, 2019 at 6:32 pm #188093If it is a drain plug … STOP ! you most likely have a 1/8 NPT -27 pipe thread. The “T'” stands for tapered. A common 1/8 pipe plug will fit. You may have trouble finding a nice looking slotted pipe plug, if so make one from a common pipe plug. … a little hack saw and file work should do it.

November 26, 2019 at 7:00 pm #188096Good hardware stores like Aubuchon have little boxes with assorted screws, nuts and pipe plugs. You can get 1/8 NPT there.
November 26, 2019 at 10:18 pm #188102It so happens that Model A Ford uses a slotted brass 1/8 NPT to seal
oil pump hole in block. Part # A 6755 @ 65 cents each.

Probably shipping would be a tad high for just one itme, but,
it is the right plug

November 27, 2019 at 10:28 am #188120Thanks everyone but it’s 3/8 x 27tpi that I need – not 1/8

1/8″ NPT is a tapered pipe thread. 1/8″ SCH 40 pipe is 0.405″ outside diameter the plug, being tapered and threaded will be in the neighborhood of 3/8″ nominal O.D. I believe that is what you are going for. 3/8″ SCH 40 pipe would have an O.D. of about 0.675″.
