May 25, 2020 at 6:19 am #203974I think we can get you part numbers for the parts, but first we need the starter part number and to get THAT, I, at least, need the serial number of the engine.
Long live American manufacturing!

It is in a Mercury box with part number 50-898265005 on it
If this is any help to you email me at bruceter00@gmail.comMay 25, 2020 at 8:30 am #203988I did a bit more research on this starter
It is a Arco Marine starter part number 5379
This replaces Mercury part numbers 50-73521 ,50-73521 T & 50-898265005
Also Sierra 18-5605

So the Delco Remy starter’s Mercury part # is 50-31976. The first model Merc 1000, and 850s use it, too.
A brush kit for it would be Mercury # 31197 and a brush spring is 24-31170.
The original Delco starter superseded to #58788A3. My guess is that it is probably Bosch, the kind with the flat commutator and permanent magnets.Long live American manufacturing!
