do you have the next page too? This is the same problem I have with my unit.
I tried using a burnishing tool to clean the points, and it somewhat restored the machine. It still doesn’t seem to work as well as prior to cleaning the points.
I’ll get around to working on it again at some point because the machine is a must-have to daily repairs.
I had the same issue with mine. I cleaned the points, and it improved things, but it still isn’t working the same way it was prior to the points being dirty. I did a thread a couple of months back and posted pictures that you may find helpful when you decide to open it up.
I have fixed a few too. Open it up by bending the bottom aluminum crimp & connect a single D battery to it & observe. Just like doing ign points but be very careful not to bend out of alignment. Support the back side using a popcycle stick or something like it. Use Wet & Dry 1000 sand paper glued to the popcycle stick, Much less donaro Eh J.W.? Or use a womans fingernail file. Be sure to check for output as it may vibrate but not in alignment. You guys have it easy. I dove into it, no instructions. A NE555 would be in order if you like chips.
