Does anyone know someone who can repair this tester ? It does not test condensers . Reason is bought a battery from Battery plus bulbs and the top plate from factory duracell 903 . Positive and negative were reversed from factory . I called Arthur at mercotronic they have parts but don’t service these testers . I am trying to get duracell to pay for repair they are going to have corporate call me . Any help would be appreciated ! My name is Jeff & phone number is 414-708-5784 or email rugercarbine40@gmail.com .
April 4, 2015 at 11:29 pm #13348Will email some pictures later today of the circuit board with what is most likely to be damaged by reverse polarity. It should only be a couple of diodes & or the NE555 ic.
April 5, 2015 at 7:21 am #13360Went to post pictures & you email address doesn’t seem to work. So the most likely part that’s faulty will be the NE555 IC, check P8 on the IC it should have +5v DC on it, if it does then replace it they are cheep about $1 ea.
April 6, 2015 at 10:28 pm #13432I’m not a member so that could be why . I’m not good at electronics repair , that’s why I’m asking for repair help. Mechanics is easy for me . Email is rugercarbine40@gmail.com or phone 414-708-5784 . I would really appreciate the help .

April 7, 2015 at 10:44 am #13463Hi Jeff have sent an email with pictures, apears to be successful this time. Incidently I am in Australia. Forgot to mention in the email the picture with the 555ic pin 8 is at the point of the biro to measure for the 5v.

Triple 5 timer is one of the oldest chips around sept the 556.
Jeferyward, I can send a diagram of the 555 if you want. Need a solder sucker & low temp pencil & it’s easy. Look for the notch & replace in the same direction. -
