Mercotronic out of business?

Tried to contact Mercotronic, but it said the phone number was out of service….

In any event, perhaps someone here with a coil tester can help me.  The little black lead that connects the unit to the auxiliary battery has broken off from wherever it is supposed to be connected to…  I touched the broken lead to one of the posts on the unit indicator light which seemed to turn it on.  But, I don’t want to connect the lead there if it should be somewhere else.  Hoping someone can look inside their tester and let me know where the negative battery lead is supposed to be connected to inside the unit…

It will matter WHICH model you have and whether or not there were any mid year changes… I have a Model 88 as well as a spare parts carcass…….I can look if this model is what you have.

Mine is the model 98, it has the internal battery as well as the AC plug.  So, if your has an internal battery, it probably is connected the way mine should be….

Thanks guys!  I guess that negative battery lead is connected to the power indicator bulb.    I will surely download and print that wiring diagram.

Does anyone know if mercotronic has gone out of business?
