Just wondering,, no I’m not going to reUse the block. But I was like.. “Hey.. these are specific to each other”.

I’ll put the block up for sale for a very low price instead of just tossing it, (120hp force is surprisingly in high demand) but I’m unsure who would try to reSleeve it.. I guess some with their own machine shop might?

Strangely I see people trying to sell the front of their blocks (side that attaches to the Carbs)… wouldn’t that be match ground to the rear of the block? I can’t see how anyone could re-use that without the rest of the original block?

As far as resleeving.. I watched a few videos on it.. Holy karumba, in the video I saw, the shop DRILLS out out the old cyl sleeve, then presses in a new one, then bores out that new one to match the size needed.  In todays cost efficient manufacturing, I can’t see hardly anyone paying for all that, then they get the honor of rebuilding the rest of the engine. when on the other hand, they can typically locate an entire replacement engine for $300-1k$, on the back of a hardly used fishing boat.

Exactly. It’s not even remotely worth the effort.

        Long live American manufacturing!
