Wish I could show a wave form using my O-scope. Always instant understanding! 😉 Frank describes the process well though.

Wouldn’t installing a capacitor across the output leads help to smooth out the DC current a bit?

But why would it be necessary? The battery also does that.

Been a long time since I read about a battery being a filter, One of the best filters around for both sag & swell correction. Thanks Frank, You make me think!
