January 12, 2025 at 11:07 am #293309It is unlikely that the toothed drive belt is unique to Kiekhaefer
Mercury as they would be way more
expensive than off the shelf item,
Easy way to identify a belt to to
read identification information printed on the belt. If it is worn
off, count the teeth and measure the width and length. Compare to
belt catalog information (hard copy or on line) See if the Mercury part # crosses with the
belt catalog part #.
A positive identification avoids
purchase of a part you can not use and can not be returned,

January 12, 2025 at 2:34 pm #293312Are the specifications published for Belt #20140?
January 13, 2025 at 10:02 am #293319I tried McMaster-Carr and none match based on my measurements. However, Amazon has what they are calling a compatible one. Has anyone tried one of these:

There is only one review on Amazon for that belt and it says NG.
January 13, 2025 at 11:31 am #293337Mark those belts are very hard to install. It sounds like previous buyers had some size issues. It might be worth a try, because they are hard to find. The price isn’t to bad. Maybe Dave can jump in and tell us how to install one. Maybe there is a way to loosen the distributor a little.  I had a bugger of a time getting mine on and it was original and it showed some wear.
