Hi everyone, Im Jamie Wallace, I live in Columbus, Wisconsin. Im a past aomci member who just got back into it after going through years of financial issues. Things are looking up! I lost track of anything related to my old aomci account, so I guess it’s a fresh start.
My question is I’ve got 3 old projects going. Im doing omc coil conversions on all 3 motors, snice all 3 coils were shot. A Lockwood-Ash 72TL twin cyl. 4hp I think, an Evinrude 4212 twin cyl. 2.5hp & a Scott Atwater 473 3.5hp. Is there 1 omc condenser that work for all applications or would there be more than 1 I should use. Thanks, Jamie in Wisconsin
August 4, 2016 at 12:06 am #41551If you are installing an OMC coil I would use the same condenser that would have been with that coil in the OMC motor. That is what I did wit my Neptune that I used OMC coils on…

August 4, 2016 at 2:41 am #41565I believe that it was Gary or Frank that has posted a pretty complete list of motor capacitor applications along with the corresponding capacitance values. The great majority of motors take a capacitor of .20 to .25 microfarad. Considering that the tolerance on the normal caps is about +/- 20% you would be OK using any very common .22uf cap. Hopefully someone will repost that list.

August 4, 2016 at 7:05 pm #41592One lead to the points and one to ground on that Frank?
And for those that want to actually find that dang thing, here is the actual page..:
