I have installed those round B&S pumps ….not saying they don’t work but the subject came up a few years ago on this board.
Something to do with the brass mesh screen over the pulse chamber of the pump allowing the heavier fuel-oil mix present in the pulse line t o ooze out the mesh.
actually.. if I recall correctly conclusion on the B/S round pumps was that they are better suited to 4 stroke application such as small engines for garden tracors/ lawn mowers etc…
For 2 stroke the square Mikuni pumps are better or the basic square OMC pump if it can be adapted so the crankcase pulse can be fed to it.

I’ve had mixed results with the B&S style fuel pumps with the brass screen on my outboard projects. A couple times they worked fine but my last project it didn’t work at all. I’ve never had a problem when I used a Mikuni pump.
