Let me start out saying that-
1.The carb has been rebuilt and is from a RD-17S. I don’t have a RDE-17 carb to compare with. All I have are parts lists from both.
2. This motor will be used with a tiller-so I don’t care about having electric choke.
3.The upper carb body(#57) on both RD-17S to RDE-17 have the same part number.
4.I was able to obtain a starter (MAK 4033 4K),correct starter bracket and flywheel.
The problem I am having is-
When I try to mount the starter .The starter bracket hits #55 lever.(see RD-17S parts list).I noticed on the RDE-17 parts list that there is no lever. My plan is to find the type of throttle shaft(#47) (376239) that is used on a RDE-17 and eliminate the lever and replace with washer and cotter pin.
But if I do that the rear butterfly(throttle valve) with not be able to be activated when I pull on the choke knob.
Also
#68 (choke rod)is different on each carb. Would I have replace that also??
Also
Any advice on removing the two screws that hold throttle valve(#52) to the throttle shaft?? I did this once a long time ago and I remember having some kind of problem
Also
Since I don’t have a RDE-17 carb. A picture of the area where #55 is would be appreciated along with thoughts and advice.
