Found everything. Quite ….
Paint code ? 🙂
Or should I paint it flat black like a rat rod ? 😛October 20, 2016 at 8:13 am #46169It’s your motor, do whatever you want with it. Personally, I’d paint it the right color. Reprotint has the correct color paint. http://www.reprotint.com
October 20, 2016 at 4:23 pm #46191Great !
Thank you.
Is usually a 12 oz can enough ?October 21, 2016 at 9:55 pm #46268A few dents on the tank ..
November 9, 2016 at 3:39 am #47209Head gasket and rings received from http://www.laingsoutboards.com .
Very nice service and solid box !How to do when you need a ring compressor 🙂
November 25, 2016 at 8:04 pm #48015The usual first (re) start.
November 29, 2016 at 3:19 pm #48196There’s no water circulation in the engine.
The rubber excentric as some wear, so i need to replace it.
I can’t find one specific for Scott-Atwater, but this Gale #900040 seems to be the same :
http://www.vintageoutboard.com/collecti … ntric-typeI also noticed there’s supposed to be O-rings on the water tube, but I’m not sure they are really useful.
Do you use any kind of sealer here ?
Also, the rotor is not cheap at 25$. Its shape is nice, but it shrinked.
Is there any way to have it stretch to the original size ?Thanks.

AOMCI member Brian Wilcox makes the pump rotors for this motor.
I just got one a month or two ago from him. And he’s very reasonable.
His email address, baron0418[at]att.net
And I think the "b" needs to be capitalized.
Good Luck with your motor.Steve A W
November 30, 2016 at 3:51 am #48253Thanks a lot Steve for the information.
I ve mailed to Douglas Penn, but he is now retired from outboard parts:)It seems rubber can be as new ( and still reliable years after ) by soaking in brake fluid.
So i try first this.
3.99 for DOT 4, and 25 $ + shipping for an unknow rotor 😛
Guess my choice..This motor will run, of course.
My goal is to sell it and find a 1927 / 30.Won t make money. for sure 😛
November 30, 2016 at 4:56 am #48256That’s shocking news about Doug Penn.
Scott and Gale rotors are NOT the same.
Another aomci member, Bob Long also makes them.
I’ve bought from both.
