Perhaps this might not be a topic of interest ,but I fell compelled to warn everyone about the want add placement. There are scammers out there and I encountered one. His name so called is Pat Row . Don’t be duped into sending monies because simply he doesn’t have the product .He tried to give me 2 different addresses and people with post office address only Just beware deal with members or know the person. January 7, 2016 at 9:44 pm #29764Shame there are people like that out there.
but there are.January 7, 2016 at 10:28 pm #29768Whenever I put my email address on the classifieds, I get bombarded that day with spam. I find keeping to the members only classifieds prevents it, however it doesn’t get to as many people.

January 8, 2016 at 2:06 am #29785I would never give out my main e-mail address or phone number.
Get a 2nd e-mail account for something like this.January 9, 2016 at 12:46 am #29852I GET THE SAME KRAP WITH craigslist…usually the inquiry will start out as "is this still available?" When I answer, most time they won’t respond….they are just collecting email addresses for spammers. I got an inquiry from one Bozo who didn’t like the fact that I was following up…asked why he had me take pictures, negotiated prices and failed to follow up when I met his demands, he threatened to come over and "smack you in the head with my motor" for bothering him….I told him I’d wait for him….that I’d like him to meet my "little friend"
January 9, 2016 at 1:04 am #29854How about sending them a charged 12,000 volt 36 mfd cap 4 them to open. Have one on my desk now. It will melt a small screwdriver in half with ease. Also have a 12,000 volt 30 ma neon transformer to charge it. FRANK give me the address Saturday at the cafe Saturday!!! the cap came from a defibulator shocker for the hospital, you know the pads & clear as he jumps off the table 😀

!January 9, 2016 at 12:34 pm #29881If you or members of the club do not know them then I one thing I have tried that has worked well is to set up a paypal account (free) and have them seller post it on ebay with a Buy It Now price and a Best Offer option. Have the seller post the Buy It Now price really high and then you (the buyer) submit a Best Offer price at the amount you previously agreed upon. If he accepts you best offer and does not ship the product then you are covered under PayPal.

January 11, 2016 at 1:59 pm #29982I do quite a bit of selling (downsizing) on Craigs and I get a lot of emails with NO subject and stating "I want to buy the ITEM". That’s for sure from a computer so I delete.
On other fuzzy inquiries where I’m suspicious but not sure, I reply through Craigs (BCC me) and ask him to include a specific word or series of numbers in his reply. Computers can’t handle that. Some days I get the identical inquiry on two or more of my listings. Yeah, ya gotta be careful. All that crap for just a penny an addy.
Also careful where I meet with potential buyers, rarely at my home unless the item is large. Usually meet at the parking lot of a business, always carrying my S&W insurance policy.
A nearby town is letting folks meet in the lobby of the police station. Dang good idea.
And, CASH only. If they want to pay by check offer to meet at their bank.
