December 24, 2015 at 4:56 pm #29152quote beerman57:Mumbles, I keep looking at radar and satellite for the northwest. It’s crummy weather but everywhere out west can use all the rain/snow you can get, can’t you?
It’s our friends to the South who need the water. Our main reservoir reached maximum capacity on Dec. 14 and is now flowing over the spillway.https://www.crd.bc.ca/about/data/sooke- … kly-photos
December 24, 2015 at 5:40 pm #29156Outboard guy,
My family sold some land to a convenience store. The Feds came out & counted the bugs & sir charged the seller for the relocation of the bugs cause they would have to move. Trust the gov? That was in the 70’s they pulled that crap on us. They knew we had $$ at the time. Never did see the new address for the bugs, wonder where they all went? Gollie!!December 24, 2015 at 8:01 pm #29170My Boss in 2003 had to have a "Snake assessment" done on a piece of land we were developing. In Wisconsin we have Garter snakes, and Butler garter snakes. The Butler variety was considered endangered in Wisconsin in 2003. Don’t know why because our neighbor to the south Illinois has millions of em’. The Department of Natural Resources came out and did indeed find a few snakes. My Boss had to pay $1600 to have these stupid snakes DNA tested because the "Experts" from the DNR could not tell what of the two snakes they were. Turned out they were just plain old garter snakes and we could go ahead with the project, but this testing set us back about 7 months waiting for the results and the OK.
In 2006 Wisconsin took the butler garter snake off of it’s endangered species list. If you ever want to see my bosses blood boil, just ask him about the butler garter snakes. 😯December 24, 2015 at 9:11 pm #29179Saw a night crawler slinking across the driveway this morning. Dec 24 in Iowa! Crazy.

December 27, 2015 at 8:29 pm #29277This unusual weather is supposedly due to the current STRONG El Nino season, the biggest ever according to the National Weather Service(the government) . When we eventually get through this, I hope all of us enjoy a nice spring and summer !

December 28, 2015 at 1:40 am #29285I wish everyone in tornado alley, or anywhere tornadoes are common would quit building wood frame houses. I’m a carpenter, and I know properly built block houses don’t go flying apart, the roof may be gone, but the exterior walls will still be there.
