I would like to drill out the pin and replace the broken handle with another handle
The replacement handle that I have does not have swivel plate (pad)
What kind of pin should I use?

I use 3/16″ aluminum rod stock for a replacement pin, cut to length and peen the ends.

if not overly comesticly inclined …

I just take JB epoxy putty and stick on the end of the handle pushing some inside the hollow handle when hardenned I just file and reshape the tip smooth
