from ottawa Canada ,just a question to all members .has anyone thought of making 3Dprints parts from old motors? i mean low compression motors such as the elto cub/mate should be relatively easy ,or any other parts for that matter that does not meet heavy force /tension .just a thought if not why?
I watch TubalCain on YouTube some times (mostly on lathe work)
but he now has a 3D printing machine, and I believe he has used
the plastic parts he’s printed out for making molds, then casting
parts out of aluminum.
For a one off part, yes, the time involved would be prohibitive. BUT, if it’s a part that might have some demand, once the files are set up, subsequent "printings" are much less involved.
