      How do I pull the top lip seal without a puller ?

        Split the crankcase…….. easier than it may seem, and you can check
        out the innards to see if they look okay.

        Prepare to be boarded!

          If you don’t want to split the cases, a couple of well placed deck screws can be used to pull it out and greasing the drill bit will help to prevent any chips from falling into the rollers.

          Maybe it’s just me but the seal in your photo looks like its installed upside down, or is it even in there?

            Your correct Mumbles-I do not want to split the case if I don’t have to.
            Boy- those deck screw are very well placed

              While this is all good, you do realize that some OEM seals do not have enough lip to do this process, particularly the 9.9/15 hp motors and the large crank 40 hp motors… I have the seals here and had to modify the puller to allow it to get either of the 2 seals…. pain in the backside I tell ya….
