Picked up this pump last Saturday. So far I’ve learned
in was made in 35 or 36, according to Hunn’s book.

Did Evinrude ever produce a parts or owner manuals for
      these?

Were they sold thru dealer networks to the public, or only to fire departments,
      Forestry, etc?

Anyone know if later Lightfour internals fit the earlier Imperial versions?

Just realized this morning that the pump must supply cooling water to
the engine, but not sure how it all works yet. It has a lever that says
“Flush or On”, presumably for the cooling system.

The power head is froze up, but didn’t look bad peeking into the cylinders,
from what little I could see.

Anyone have one of these units, or have literature on these pump motors?
      Thanks.

The rods on these are bronze. Later ones were aluminum. I believe some parts are interchangeable. The crankcase and the carburetor are different on the early lightfours. Do you need a flywheel for this motor?

I believe those Evinrude pumps were marketed in commercial publications aimed at the fire fighting people. There was a users manual, but they got pased around until they were in threads.

Thanks for the replies. The Imperial is missing it’s flywheel. Whether or not I
need one depends if the flywheel from a later parts Lightfour I have fits.
I haven’t had a chance to see yet. Being that it’s froze up, the flywheel may
be the least of my worries!
