Just got the 1936 A-80 4.5 hp running yesterday, so I decided
to start on the 1936 Johnson "100", 1.7 hp.

I could use a good photo (or parts manual) of what
the tiller handle and mounting bracket looks like.

Mine had a homemade handle on it, and evidently
not mounted in the correct spot.
On, watching YouTube videos, it looks like there’s suppose
to be a triangular bracket mounted to the front of the power head
that the tiller handle mounts to. Also, I seen some with round
      tiller handles, and some square.

The skeg is most likely in a rocky part of a river somewhere.
If you find it, please return it. 😮

It had spark, and the piston, rings, cylinder, all look good.

The gas tank is better than the A-80 I just got running,
but the aluminum feels a lot thicker in this little "100" tank.
Not sure if the old "air pressure and heat trick" would
      work or not.

The exhaust tube is aluminum and the drive shaft tube
appears heavier brass, which has me wondering if the
      aluminum tube is "home made"?

Looks like someone welding on top of the flywheel weight.
      Not sure why?

Any "quirks" on these little Johnsons to be on the lookout for?
      Thanks!

        .
model 100 must have an original square tiller arm, just like his big brother
the model 200 from the same 1936 area
both exhaust and drive shaft tubes are made of aluminum
        just MHO of course
about the triangular bracket ….? dunno
and for the skeg….. take a dive , who knows 😎

Kee’s, Lakes are froze in my area… too cold for "diving" !

Looks like Johnson produced a J-80 in 1936 also,
and it’s 1.7 hp as is the model 100.
Appears from videos, etc., that the J-80 had
a water pump, and bolt on muffler, whereas the
model 100 didn’t. Not sure how many parts
would be exchangeable between the two models,
but they appear to be the same bore x stroke.
