I am inquiring about parts for a 1938 Evinrude light win 4.7hp that I am restoring. Model number 4289. Currently, I am looking for piston rings, pistons, but would be interested in any other spare parts for this model. I have acquired manuals and researched extensively, if there is any insight into older Evinrude’s would be greatly appreciated.

If its a 2 inch bore, I may have pistons and rings for it. Do you have the pistons out of it now? if so, there will be a casting number on the interior but you will probably have to wash carbon out in order to see it.

They are smooth running motors that normally require just basic mechanical work to get them running. If you have specific questions about it, I’d be glad to (try and) answer them.

    Hope this helps.
