My shear pin for my 1939 Evinrude Cub is 1/8 inch brass.
For the Cotter Pin, should it be stainless steel and what size?
thanks
Tim
It should be brass (so it shears if necessary), and if 1/8″ is a snug fit in the prop shaft hole, that’s the correct size.
Prepare to be boarded!
I have the shear pin 1/8 brass.
Should the cotter pin on the prop nut be 1/16 stainless steel cotter pin?

Sorry, I misread your post. YES to the SS cotter pin if you don’t want it to rust. I bought a kit of them off of Amazon to have handy.
