The third time was the “charm” in taking the carb back off and
getting it to run at high speed without half-choked.
Lapped the mounting flange and found a better fitting internal
      fiber washer.

Appears to be ready for a boat test, but I’m still wondering about
the lack of any visible cooling water discharge. The cylinder
heats up, but slower than the other 1J.
I have no inferred heat gun, and not sure what temp it should run
      at anyhoo.

      Q. Anyone rig up a Tell-Tale on these motors?
It has a steel impeller, so that shouldn’t be an issue,
as I’m doubtful if the drive pin on it sheard.
I’d have to take it all apart again to see how the water discharge
is routed, but evidently it goes down the driveshaft housing,
so, a Tell-Tale probably not possible.

      Q. Anyone have a inferred heat gun that you wished you
never bought, i.e., “junk”? I’m not sure how much $$
one would have to spend to get a reliable one.

I’ve used this pyrometer for a while and it seems to fit the bill.

          Thanks Tom!
The price is right, so I ordered one.
