      That Autolite 386 spark plug is a resistor type plug. A Champion D16 may be the right one for this.

        If memory serves correctly, you may find that a short spark plug is needed for the 2J if you still have the spark plug cover on it. With a sparky on the plug, the spark plug cover may not even fit on the motor. Spark plug covers are usually missing.

          I still have all the covers on this motor. The Autolite 386 fits under the cover and so far it runs well. There is no extra room under the spark plug cover. That’s for sure. Ithe had a Champion 7 in it when I got it. The plug wouldn’t fire consistently under compression though. So far no ill effects from the 386 being a resistor plug.
