      1946 Evinrude zephyr model 4404 5.4 hp Has anyone changed the lower unit grease I only see one screw on bottom side I heard it was no 105 lubiplate how much do you put in?

        book says to use oil.. not grease …..

            There should be two screws. One may be on the gearcase cap forward of the prop, and might be smaller (?). Squeeze the grease in one until it comes out the other. Squeeze in a little more to flush out any water or contaminates.

              According to the War Department manual, there’s two plugs.
              Force grease into the bottom plug until new grease comes
              out the top plug. Lubriplate okay, but I think John Deere Corn
              Head grease is much better.
