I finished up “fitting” the new Sierra 18-3072 impeller for the KD4.
Had to drill out the hole several drill sizes to 1/2″.
Also had to sand down both sides of the impeller a little bit as it
was a tad too thick.
The original impeller drive was a brass piece pinned to the prop shaft,
and had two lugs that engaged the impeller. There wouldn’t have
been much left of the impeller if I made this drive lug fit, therefore,
made a new brass drive for the impeller. It won’t be as strong
as the old one, but I hope it works.
