I took the carb back off to adjust the float level, too high running out the vent. With the carb off, plugs in I noticed I have a hard time determining if I’m getting suction on the intake ports when cranking the motor over with a finger over each port. I have 65 psi on all four cylinders, am I missing something here? I thought my fingers should have a fairly strong suction on them. I’m kind of baffled at this point, suggestions welcomed.

You will feel nothing at each individual intake port. Blocking the outside high speed ports will do nothing if the center idle port is open. At cranking speeds with all three blocked you might see a 2 or 3 PSI difference in negative pressure. Crank case pressure in a running motor is only 4 or 5 PSI. On the other hand a compression of 65 PSI is border line. I would rather see 75, but that may depend on the length of the hose on the compression gauge. . . . 🙂
