Anyone have a gasket and diaphragm kit or a lead on a supplier? The Johnson Tall Boy 6 gallon takes a different gasket / diaphragm versus the more common low profile tank. I have a nice 55 Johnson 5 1/2 that I would like to run as a two line paired to this tank.

May 30, 2026 at 7:57 pm #320407Tom welcome! That tall boy tank was only used a couple years. 49/50 I think, anyway your little ’55 Johnson originally came with a four gallon can. Some people switch the smaller can for the six gallon. If you can find the right material you can make your own gaskets. Maybe someone will know if a rebuild kit is available for the tall guy.

May 30, 2026 at 10:26 pm #320418I heard back from Vintage Outboards an hour ago or so and he tells me that the gasket and diaphragm are in stock and now on its way to me. Bought the cap cork also. Now on to finding quality hose and rebuild parts for the motor connection. Im really focused on running this particular motor as intended with a pressure tank. Old school for better or worse.
May 31, 2026 at 1:01 pm #320480I sell the tool to aid in replacing the o-rings in the connector. I include new o-rings with the purchase of the tool.
They are in stock.
My email and website are listed in this message body.Regards..

May 31, 2026 at 7:55 pm #320514Jacques, Really appreciate the CD-12 parts catalog. Thanks! I picked up that motor from the original owner and he ever had the owners manual.

June 8, 2026 at 8:34 pm #321415Broke down the tank today and now that I can get a better look inside I’m surprised the Evaporust didn’t do a better job. That’s the first tank that has defeated Evaporust so I’m thinking that jug was just overused sooooo,,,,,off to buy some fresh jugs. I might try RUST911 because it’s concentrate and can make over 6 gallons so I can fill the tank and hopefully address the center baffle. The guts look pretty decent. The gas gauge moves when I manually move the float so that’s a win. The gauge face itself is pretty nice. Even the primer gurgles before being refreshed with a new diaphragm. The surprise is that the dual line that stores inside the top lip is 12ft long.
Anyone have any input on a source for dual line? Sierra vs OMC experience? I’ll be rebuilding the motor side connection which is a first for me.
