      HELP!!
I removed the magplate and tossed the junk coils years ago with the intent to rebuild the mag. Well, now’s the time!

The problem is the tag on the magplate said, “ fastwin….I think”. Now that I rebuilt it, the flywheel won’t fit. When I rotate it, it is bumping on something. I don’t have Evinrude part numbers, just Johnson but there is no equivalent motor for this one since Johnson didn’t make a match until 1956 with the FD-10.

The number on the magplate is 510166-1. Can anybody confirm I have the correct mag plate?

      Thank you in advance!
      Scott

        EDIT: ROOKIE MISTAKE!

Been awhile since worked in an OMC mag. Lined up one coil heel with the boss on each coil but ya gotta line ‘em both up!! 🤣🤣

Now the flywheel lines up nice and the motor runs like a mad man! Tomorrow i’ll run it in water and check the impeller.

I don’t believe so. Hard to tell what size that one is but my motor has no spark advance lever. The one I found must be the right one, it fit, the spark is good and the motor runs and pumps water!

thanks for getting back to me Buc!
