Love the way that blue came out Buc! You did a great job!

Thanks, looks okay, but if I did it again, I think I would just “buck up” for the Reprotint, etc.,
instead of using the DupliColor……….. took almost seven 8 oz spay cans just for the Blue!

If I redo a hood and go to the trouble to buy decals, I’ll go with the good paint for that,
then probably grumble that it looks a lot different than the Duplicolor!

Dupli-Color EBGM05397 Light Blue Metallic General Motors
It’s a lacquer paint. I put clear coat over it, but I’m guessing it’s not
as gasoline resistant as their engine enamel.

Looks like that bracket will fit both the Evinrude and Johnson electric models…I see the forward pin for the johnson rubber cover mount, and I see the threaded hole on the side for the Evinrude models.
The 1957 Bigtwin electrics actually had a chrome trim piece (cursive “Evinrude”) that mounted on the upper black area.
Nice paint job, wish I could paint like that….

While the starter bracket had the boss cast into it where the side mount
would be for the non electric models, there was no hole to bolt the mount to.
I had to drill and tap a hole.
I’ll have to look a some photos to see if I can find the chrome “Evinrude” on
                the electric start model hoods.
My painting procedure…… shake can of paint…….. spray, lol.
                Thanks.
