      Steve, it all depends how particular you are.  I have cut 1/4″  rubber hose in half (long ways), sliced it with a short blade cutter.  I have some rubber insulator that goes around the glass on a screen door that I glued on the face plate with some trim cement.  One thing about it is it doesn’t show so all it needs to do is not rattle against the hood and your are good to go!   Just a little thinking and you will figure something out for cheep!

        I have used this stuff  for  trimming some edges on OBs… thisis just one  size  just choose   the proper size on amazon

        it grips the edge  nicely. on the faceplate and pull cord openning  just snip off the two tabs  on top for a perfect fit
