I’m looking for a 1960 parts catalog so I can know what to look for in NOS parts online. I recently picked up a nice 1960 Quality Glass with this Scott outboard on the rear. Cranks well with excellent compression but will not fire off. More details on another thread in the “current projects” forum. Also, anyone know what the little round tubes in the holder are for? I know those pins are for the prop, but the other two items I’m not familiar with.

If you have Scott experience with this engine or own one you maintain I’d love to chat with you!

Yes, I guess those ARE shear pins aren’t they? LOL I didn’t really stop to think hard on it, and didn’t even notice them until this past weekend. Thought it was cool that they had a little holder.

I have a parts cat for a ’60 40-hp in Elgin drag. Not likely to be substantially different from the Scott version, if at all.

No such luck. Old school paper copy.

Retiredoz – is that engine a “copy” of the Scott? Just curious as I don’t have a ton of knowledge about the Scotts and what else out there might be a similarly produced engine. Is your catalog for sale if it is very similar parts wise? Or may I request to ask what the part numbers are for the points/condensors and water pump impeller are?

Breaker points : 135-127 Condensers – 335B-115 Bailer pump – 336-5100 Cooling pump – 136-5100. Discount Marine may have these. I’d post pictures but this site won’t let me. I might not move heaven and earth to get a bailer pump..

Breaker points : Sierra 18-5162 Condenser : 18-5236. Points available on Ebay, not cheap. Maybe Discount Marine can do better..

Ah yes, I’m beginning to quickly learn Discount Marine, and I understand why. LOL Yep , those points aren’t cheap, but if ya gotta have em… some is better than NONE.
