      Hello.
1968 mercury 500 S/N-2408947. I am changing the lower unit seals because it was leaking oil. when i removed the bearing carrier i noticed the thrust washer against the reverse gear has a slight crack. Is the reverse gear pressed into the bearing or is the bearing pressed into the carrier. I see to replace the thrust washer i need to remove the reverse gear.

I am wondering how to do this without destroying anything

      Thank You

Is it just a typical gear puller?
