Propped and trimmed right, that Javelin should have a lot more low end torque than the 2000 25 HP for getting it up on plane. Most of the 30 javelins were short shaft – be sure your motor length matches your boat transom. The electric start is a 6 volt system, but will work fine on 12 volts as long as you don’t have the optional 6 volt generator and hold the electric choke on too long.

I do have a long transom. But I have the extension for it already. Just looking for a tiller handle now. I don’t have the generator and will probably just manual choke it since I will be back by the motor to start it. Thanks! I’m looking forward to getting it going.
