Hello. The pictures attached show damage or pitting at the bottom of the reed plate where the reeds seat.
Should I replace this reed plate with a NOS or better used item?
I was basically wondering if the motor will run well as the damage appears miniscule and there are no obvious gaps between the reeds and plate.
      Thanks.

I think I’d lap the plate a little and use it.

        Prepare to be boarded!

I’d be more concerned about what caused the pitting. Water?

I agree with lapping it. But what do the reeds themselves look like?

Thanks for the advise, I am definitely going to buy lapping items.
As far as internally, there are no signs of water in there.
              No odd corrosion or rust.
not sure what type of dirt got in there to damage the plate.
The reeds appear to sit flat on the plate.
Outside of being slightly discolored the reeds don’t have any rough edges or damage.
