      Thinking about buying 10 hp 1955 Johnson with bad lower unit. I have a 56 Johnson 15 hp that someone swapped an evinrude lower unit on. My 15 has very low compression. Can I swap the 15 lower unit to the 10? Thanks

        Yes, I believe the lowers are a direct swap…Needless to say, you will need to keep the lower pitch prop from the 10hp, the larger pitch prop from the 15hp will be too much for the smaller engine….
