      Hello.
      Been a while I didn’t come here.
Lost wife, house, cars, tools, cats .. And even my racoons ! ๐Ÿ™‚
      I gave all my outboards.
Polished a whole Evinrude Sportman 1947, if you remember.

A few years ago, I fixed an Elto for a friend.
      It doesn’t start anymore.
I suspect the capacitor to be dead.
      The engine was perfect.
Can someone give me the value for this cap ?
I will change it for a modern one, and quite sure the Elto will work again.

      Elto 12 hp 1956 model 12D13E

      Thanks a lot.
I hope this will be readable, it seems the forum as changed and is a pain to read and use.

        That takes a 0580321 – 3ยตf. + or – 10% . . . Someone should have the generic number for you –

Did you change the coils in the ELTO? I think there is only one choice for the modern replacements, which is .22 mfd.

With all due respect to Garrys post, the 580321 cap has a rating of 0.22 uF +/- and not 0.30 as shown. The Evinrude chart shown had a typo and has since been corrected.

              Thanks a lot !!!
I will just give him a modern cap, rated 600 volts ๐Ÿ™‚
220 nF is a usual value.
