Are these 1979 Mercury 9.8 Plug wires removable?

Before i go to far can anybody tell me if these come off? I tried unscrewing a few turns but chickened out. Put back together and still have spark.

thanks Dave. I was at the point where the old wires were looking pretty good.

The spark plug wire just pulls out. The small wires to the coil have a nut holding them in place after you pull the rubber waterproof cap off
