I have a good running 1957 Evinrude Big twin electric start. Comes with controls, control cables, all wiring, and start/choke buttons. (No steering). Also a recently refurbished 6gal, pressurized tank and hose. Package deal, not selling separately! . Just sold the boat I had it on and I’m done reworking wood boats for the time being. What is this worth? Please don’t say what ever someone is willing to pay for it! Just a fair price without cheating myself.
May 15, 2026 at 1:28 pm #318885It literally IS only worth what you and the potential buyer agree on…. Someone goes thru these mechanically and generally asks about $900
Not sure how many he sells and IF he actually gets that from them..
What I am willing to pay, IF I wanted a 3rd motor this size, is not even close to what someone else is willing to pay if it that is THE motor he has had his dreams set on getting..Sorry if that bothers you, pick a number/price… look thru your local Marketplace, Ebay, auction sites Letgo, all those places…compare what you see and decide where the price point is for you..

May 20, 2026 at 5:29 pm #319408It looks like a nice enough original from the 2 pics. 600-1000 depending on one heckuva lot of factors.
Looks like it has no recoil? Solenoid box is for a 1955-56 e-start. Dash plate is from a 1954 e-start. Throttle/gearshift controls are not correct for 1957 either. The cable arrangement going into the front of the motor is the way they did it from ‘54-‘56. In ‘57 they went with the detachable side plug-in wiring harness.
post it here on our webvertizer!
