Hi Guys, I picked up a 57 35 Johnson today. I seem to remember these having a compression release for the pull starting. This one has no electric start, so how do I disengage the compression release to get a proper reading?
YES!!
Remove the actuator arm on top of the starter.
I just unscrew the 2 screws that hold the SS horizontal bar to the compression relief tower.
What’s an acceptable number on the compression? It’s an RD 19
95 to 125 roughly.
Thanks Chris, and everyone else
