      I just picked up a British Seagull WS124301.Would this engine be a 1974 4hp?

          I had looked at the charts but they are a little hard to get the exact year & HP. I think it’s a 1974 4HP but I was just checking to see if there would be a different chart to go by.

            The serial numbers have a code in them. Need to find my chart.

              Easiest way is to use the Seagull Engine Identifier.

              Go to http://www.saving-old-seagulls.co.uk

              Click on “British Seagull Engine Identifier”

              Enter your Serial Number

              Hit return and you should get this;

              WS124301

              Unfortunately in this case, the manufacture date does not appear. However in most cases, the month and year of manufacture are clearly advised.

              Might be worth double-checking that serial number and trying again.

              Hope the above helps.

              Regards,
              Spiro
