So, why don’t I see Caille outboards for sale anywhere?  I know of a 1925 Pennant for sale, but would like to know more about them.  I really like the variable pitch propeller on them. I would appreciate any information on these unique outboards.

      Thank you.

        Jack Craib has an excellent

        Caille website maintained

        by his widow Emma.

        Also a Caille only group

        on Facebook.

The Caille outboards are just not as common as the same vintage Evinrude,  Eltos and Johnsons among others.

I have several Cailles and find them to be artfully designed motors. When you do find one it’s always nice to find them complete as parts for them are harder to come by.

I’m always on the lookout for them.

I have 2 or 3 Pennant type motors both single and 5 speed and they are well behaved motors.

Thank you.  I will check out the FB group.  So, In general, what would be a good price range for a 1925-1926 Pennant in really good original shape?

Thank you. Can you give me a source for pricing these motors?

              Thanks,

              Dave

There is no source for pricing motors! Condition always determines price, market volatility and what

the buyer is willing to pay! Just because some dreamer list a motor on Ebay for $10,000 does

not mean that motor is worth $10,000

As has been stated price is hard to say.

Price is based on condition and completeness of the motor. A Caille Pennant in very good compete condition that turns over is worth up to a  few hundred bucks in my opinion.

Very good condition to me is, a straight gas tank with some original decal remaining. The motor turns over. No broken or missing parts.
