figured I would ask this in a new thread in case it helps others.
I have a 1957 RDE-19 with unknown history. I can’t get the motor out of gear.
I have no controls. Only the side lever for now.
It’s stuck in forward.
The propeller does not spin free hand with any effort. It moves back or forward an inch or so than locks up.
I have removed the plugs, so it’s compression stopping it.
I drained the gear oil, and sadly, about a shot glass of pure water came out, followed by very dark green gear oil. Not good.
Any ideas how to get this out of gear and into neutral?
I suspect it’s either rusted lower or seized upper.
Any help sleuthing would be appreciated.
