what would you guys recommend for a spark tester? I heard a lot of talk about a good spark being able to jump 1/4 inch in this thread. handling the plugs (and their proximity to the block) is difficult while pulling it over or otherwise advancing the flywheel, etc

soooo… I plan to buy a good spark checker and would like to know which ones you guys like the best.

      thanks!

Simply one that is adjustable, with an open air gap. One like this

The open air gap mimicks the cylinders compression. There are ALOT of times a motor will spark when you hold the plug against the block. You think you have good spark, when you don’t. It is easy for it to do that, only has an 030 gap to jump, but will not jump the gap when installed in the cylinder, nor will it jump the 1/4 inch gap.
