I found the ignition coils just fine, but I didn’t see any new production coils. Pardon my ignorance, but in my electronics tinkering, I routinely replace capacitors that are over 25 years old because they can dry out. Also, when I used to change points on my old cars, a new condensor came with the point set. If I want to use the points that are on the motor, because, frankly, they look better made than the new ones plus they cleaned up really well, where do you get new condensors? Does OMC sell those online? Thanks for your advice, and your patience. P.S. Going to include a couple pics of the original coils just for fun

March 12, 2026 at 11:15 am #308654Those condensers are very common and easy to find. here are a few articles on condensers which can even be rebuilt by emptying the cans and refilling with .22uf condensers …see article

March 16, 2026 at 12:58 pm #309791OK, well the new OEM coils are still available. Someone has a newer ignition kit installed already, I can tell by the short condensors.
All that being said, I would agree, the older points are better quality than the new stuff, even OEM. But, there is one thing you must inspect prior to reusing old point. That is rubbing block wear. The non metalic rubbing block will slowly wear down after years of riding against the point cam. Eventually, the point cam will rub on the metal part of the breaker point arm shorting them out. You can not reuse old points if the rubbing blocks are close to being worn out….
Here is a breakdown of your ignition system, most every part is still available OEM or aftermarket:
