      On the late fifty’s cruise-a-day tanks, are there two gaskets? There’s the one that’s sandwiched in between the top unit and the tank, but is there also another one in-between the tank and the lower unit?

          There is only one gasket. In this diagram the gasket 39 goes between the tank and the push button/handle assembly housing 35. The diaphragm 38 is sandwiched between that and the lower housing 22.

            I’ve never had one apart (yet) but in looking at the diagram, where does #41 fit into the equation?

              That’s the support that the whole assembly gets screwed on to. It goes underneath, inside the tank. It’s held on by 2 screws (20) and lines up with the rectangular and circular openings and has the threaded holes that the handle assembly screws screw into to hold everything in place.
