8822 – Evinrude #377 – Sea King Midget. I believe it has a piston pump driven off the drive shaft. running through sand can ware a hole in the piston. Stuck piston – stuck valves – plugged water jacket.

thanks Garry I will try what you said, but if I have to remove complete pump, how do I go about it. I see 2 screws on bottom, do I remove them to get to the punp. Waiting for a reply Thanks guys, so very much
Yes – loosen the water tube nut, then the screws, one screw on each side. That should allow you to swing the pump housing to clear the base and drop down to check it out. The pump piston should move freely. If the base of the piston is worn through, A piece of brass or coper may be soldered over the hole. Back in the day we used a copper penny – filed to fit – LOL
