      I am wanting to take the exhaust cover off for ease of painting . I think the foot needs to be lowered to get the exhaust tube off to allow the cover to be removed.
      So this is a matter of just removing the 2 nuts and the unit will pull straight out ? Is there anything I should be careful of ?
      Sorry if this is stupid question just first time working on a outboard so I’m a bit timid on just taking stuff apart …

        Remove the two nuts and the unit pulls straight off. The exhaust tube is held in the muffler casting with a screw.
