I am working on restoring a rudder twin and ran across this video on youtube for rebuilding the coils for these.

      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e2vxDqF_OEU

In the video it is suggesting replacing the original coils with a Zephyr coil (mentioned at 2:15 into the video). What I would like to know is if there are other options for coils? Are the Zephyr coils available? Where can I get them?

Has anyone else tried this and has it worked?
      Thank you for your help.

Zephyr coils are VERY available. You can place a want ad and see what pops up. I am sure you will find one….And yes it works very well…

I bought four of these coils. They were cheap enough. I have not tried them, yet.

Have you measured the secondary of the original coil?
It has been my experience that many of these coils are good and the condenser aka capacitor is shot. Original Elto coils have great hot spark.
If the coil secondary is bad zephyr coils are great coils.

They show up on eBay from time to time also.
