Evinrude 33 HP prop seal shaft replacement method?

I hope this is our last challenge to complete this lower unit project. What is the best and safest way to replace the prop shaft seal? I received a new one in my seal kit and it makes sense to replace it with a brand new one. The one I have came out of another donor lower unit.

The seal carrier may have 2 small holes on the back side like this one – if so, insert a small punch thru those holes to knock the old seal out. Then drive the new seal in with a socket of appropriate size.
